When I first heard the word Zika, I thought Yves Larock had dropped a hot new summer anthem, but no.

Did you know the deadliest animal on the planet is not a lion, tiger or bear but the ever annoying mosquito? And Zika is the mosquito disease du-jour.

Lucky for you, here's my natural mosquito repellant.

Mosquitoes carry and can transmit tons of diseases therefore protection from these beasts is major key. This organic, safe and easy-to-make bug repellent simply uses ingredients we usually have lying around the house.

Don’t like the idea of smelling like vinegar? Chill because the smell subsides once in contact with your skin.

Want more good news? Vinegar is amazing for the skin, it has healing properties that help soothe the skin after minor burns. Bathe yourself in this elixir and don’t let Zika get you down!

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients/Supplies

  • 1 tsp fresh or dried parsley

  • 4 oz apple cider vinegar

  • Mortar

  • Strainer

  2. Let mixture sit for an hour or overnight.

  3. Strain out the mixture.

  4. Fill container with mixture.

  5. Spray sparingly on your bod.
